The Domain.com team is packing their bags for a weekend in New York City! We’ll be on-site with .CLUB at the TechCrunch Disrupt New York Hackathon May 7th and 8th. TechCrunch Hackathons are a launchpad for new products and startups, with 800 hackers collaborating, developing, coding, and pitching their ideas in the hopes of attracting the attention of judges and investors. It may be a whirlwind 24 hours for the teams but the payoff could be huge. Take it from the mobile app GroupMe, which was conceived in 2010 at a TechCrunch Disrupt Hackathon and ultimately acquired by Skype for a cool $80 million.
We believe in the power of hackathons and the startups they create. We know it’s not easy to develop a startup in 24 hours, so that’s why we will be pairing up with .CLUB to offer our assistance to these teams as they race against the clock. We’ll be available all weekend to help teams establish their online presence with a new domain name, web hosting plan, and words of advice, all at no cost to the team members. And since there’s nothing more beneficial to an all-nighter than a midnight snack, Domain.com will be serving pizza and beer at 12 a.m. to keep all the hackers fueled up!
Join us as we celebrate web developers, entrepreneurs, and startups all weekend long on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at what Domain.com and .CLUB are up to while we visit New York City.
